Parent Pathways is a voluntary service that provides personalised and financial support to eligible parents and carers of children up to the age of 6 years.
Parent Pathways by Sureway is a voluntary and flexible support service designed to meet the unique needs of parents and carers. Tailored to fit into your busy family life, Parent Pathways connects you with a dedicated mentor to help you build a plan that works for you. Together, you’ll explore a range of local services, activities, and training options that can empower you and benefit your family.
From childcare support, financial assistance for training costs, building skills for your family’s future to language and literacy programs, Parent Pathways offers a comprehensive set of resources. If you need to adjust your plan, that’s okay too. Whether you meet with your mentor in person, online, or over the phone, our service is family-friendly—your children are always welcome to join you.

Your Sureway Parent Pathways Mentor will be able to help you with things like:
- Language or literacy programs
- Support to find a childcare centre and help with childcare costs
- Financial support, for example to help with the cost of training courses, textbooks or to purchase a computer
- Referral to supports such as financial information services or family and domestic violence support services
- Training, such as a short course at the local TAFE
- Career guidance
ELIGIBILITY CHECK
Parent Pathways is for parents and carers who:
- Have a child aged under 6
- Are not in paid employment
- Live in an area where there is a Parent Pathways provider
Receiving one of these payments:
- Parenting Payment
- Carer Payment
- Special Benefit
Eligibility includes those who are not getting a Centrelink payment, and are either:
- Under 22 years old
- An early school leaver (parents who don’t have a year 12 qualification)
- A First Nations parent or carer.
