Lynette proves it’s never too late
Upon commencing into Disability Employment Services (DES) in Murray Bridge, Lynette (Lyn) held the belief that her days of paid employment were gone due to being a mature aged job seeker. This belief caused her to feel unsure of what type of work she could pursue.
Lyn’s Sureway Consultant reminded Lyn of the value in her skill set, having a vast amount of bookkeeping experience acquired from working with a number of businesses throughout her career
Over some weeks they worked together to rebuild her confidence in her skills, when an opportunity was identified with a local employer that was looking to expand their small food van business into a permanent establishment.
Lyn’s experience made her the perfect fit and she was successful in securing the role of Bookkeeper with the growing business. Sureway were able to assist the employer with a Government Wage Subsidy which will support them to continue to grow their business for the community.
Lyn has since become a valuable asset to the Heavenly Hotdogs team. The business owner said they wouldn’t know what they would have done if Lyn had not been referred to them by Sureway!
